1. Livelihood and Resilience
Center for People Development (C4PD) recognizes climate change as a pressing challenge that disproportionately affects vulnerable communities. To address this, C4PD runs a tree nursery initiative focusing on both fruit trees and indigenous trees, working primarily with women as a means of environmental conservation and economic empowerment. Through this program, women in Muhoroni Sub County gain the knowledge and skills to establish and manage tree nurseries, providing seedlings for reforestation, agroforestry, and sustainable land restoration. The initiative not only enhances climate resilience by increasing tree cover but also serves as a vital income-generating activity, enabling women to support their families and improve their livelihoods. By integrating environmental sustainability with economic empowerment, C4PD fosters a greener future while strengthening local communities in the fight against climate change.
2. Conservation and Land Rehabilitation Project - C4PD
In Change for People Development (C4PD), we implemented a conservation initiative focused on land rehabilitation and protecting selected wildlife species in Samburu and Maasai Mara. This project brings together key stakeholders to strengthen conservation efforts through community engagement, education, and sustainable practices.
A major component of our work is capacity building for communities living around national parks. We equip them with knowledge and skills on best conservation practices, empowering them to play an active role in protecting wildlife and their habitats. Additionally, we engage young people in conservation education, fostering a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship.
2. School- Based Programs
Our school-based programs aim to shift perceptions around conservation by integrating it into learning experiences. We help students understand the impact of climate change on wildlife survival and inspire them to become part of the change process. Through these efforts, we strive to create a sustainable future where endangered species are preserved and communities coexist harmoniously with nature.
